Calculation of paint
Enter the surface parameters and paint consumption rate — we will calculate the total volume with a waste allowance and select the number of cans of the chosen pack size.
- Total coverage area
- 100 m²
- Paint volume
- 11 L
- Cans

The calculation is an estimate. Actual consumption depends on the type of paint, the primer, the absorbency of the surface and the application technique. A manager will clarify the consumption rate for your task when preparing the quote.
How is it calculated?
Coverage area: surface area × number of coats.
Volume: coverage area ÷ coverage rate (m²/L) × allowance factor. The paint consumption rate is on the manufacturer's packaging; typically 8–14 m²/L for water-based paints at a coat thickness of 60–80 µm.
Cans: volume ÷ the chosen pack size, rounded up.
Allowance for waste: accounts for losses from absorption into a primed surface, splashing when working with a roller/sprayer, and the residue left in the can. 10% by default — a typical value for residential finishing.
